RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival is on!

RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival is on!

Our ‘RHS No Dig Garden’ will be made and from 6th to 11th July you can buy tickets for the show. Tickets for 6th and 7th are for RHS members only.
I have been invited to design a no dig garden along with co-designer Stephanie Hafferty and we are both so pleased the show is taking place, after the disappointments of last year. You can see an illustration of the garden on the homepage. Special covid measures will be in place. You can see details of the garden here.

The garden will feature elements of my Homeacres garden and Steph’s allotment: weed free, no dig beds with beautiful vegetables growing.  Complete with a polytunnel, garden shed and greenhouse, the garden will demonstrate to visitors the joys of the no dig method. Come and see the multisown vegetables at close spacings. Inside the poly tunnel are flowers and herbs alongside aubergines and tomatoes. In the greenhouse you see new seedlings in modules. Steph will be there for much of the time, I am for some of it and we shall give talks and advice.

The no dig garden will be located in the heart of the show ground.  I was thrilled to have this opportunity to demonstrate the simple and beautiful no dig method to a large audience. Visitors can see how much is possible to grow in small areas, by feeding the soil with compost and saving the work of digging.

From Steph, “We are looking forward to showing how you can grow some of your own food, year round, in an allotment garden. I am building the garden with Chris (Pennard Plants) and his team, and I’m excited about participating in the whole process of a show garden at the world’s largest garden festival. www.stephaniehafferty.co.uk
