The village of Alhampton is between Ditcheat and Castle Cary Station in South Somerset. One mile from Castle Cary, five from Bruton and six from Wincanton.
From the London A303, take the Wincanton and Castle Cary turn off. Take the A371 towards and through Castle Cary, continue past the rail station and after another 200m there is a left turn to Alhampton, just before the Brook House Inn. A three quarter mile along this road brings you into Alhampton village, take the first left (before you pass the Inn) which is a no through road, then Homeacres is third property on the left after passing a pretty chapel.
From the Devon A303, turn off at Sparkford onto the A359 for Frome and Bruton. Continue for four miles, just after passing through Galhampton take the slip road left to Castle Cary for a mile and a half, until you come to a T junction in the town. Turn left on Station Road for half a mile, then left again onto the A371 and within 200m you pass the train station on your right, then continue as above.
From the north, pass through Shepton Mallet on the A371 towards Castle Cary, about six miles, until the Brook House Inn on your right shows you the small right turn to Alhampton; then as above. Or take the earlier turn right to Alhampton, a small lane, which joins the slightly larger road to Alhampton and saves a little travelling.
