Wool is a fantastic natural resource that’s sadly under used. Each year sheep produce a new fleece which is often shorn and discarded. A mountain of wool (around 90% of the total produced, or around 150 tonnes) is thrown away every single year. Wool pots are sustainable, chemical free, good for plants and easier to use!
You dig a hole and pop the whole pot into it, leaving it slightly proud of the soil. The wool protects against slugs and snails, wicks water down to the plant’s roots, and will decompose into a bio-rich plant food within 6–7 weeks (they’ll last several months in the greenhouse before planting out).The pots are soft so they pack flat to take up minimal space for transit. The only packaging is a length of yarn and an instruction label. Ideal for growing seeds and cuttings.
