This course gives details on how to grow successfully under cover in a greenhouse or polytunnel, throughout the year.

It is a short course designed for anyone who would like to get the most of an existing structure, or for those who are thinking of investing in one.

The course comprises three lessons, each containing text, illustrative photographs and educational videos.

Lesson 1: Under cover structures 

Increase your season and success, including for propagation. I compare greenhouse and polytunnel costings and growth potential. I describe ways to erect a polytunnel and the value of keeping polythene clean, with many Homeacres examples.

Lesson 2: Under cover cropping in summer 

I explain how to increase soil fertility with compost, and no feeds or fertiliser. And advise on what to grow in this wonderful season, how to maintain moisture, the importance of ventilation, use of strings, and harvesting. Grow tomatoes without late blight!

Lesson 3: Under cover cropping in winter 

The winter is a time for maximum possibilities, and I illustrate these with examples from Homeacres. Even compared to summer, winter has more opportunities for under cover growing of vegetables that otherwise you could not enjoy in the winter months.
